Keto In Disneyland

I am on the Keto diet.  What is a a Keto diet? According to Wikipedia “A ketogenic diet (keto) is a diet that derives most of its calories from fat and only a small number of calories from carbohydrates. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates for energy. … But, if you don’t eat enough carbohydrates, your body has a back-up system of burning fat instead.” Short answer little to no carbs and sugar, high fat. Unfortunately, I also love to go and work at the happiest place on Earth aka Disneyland home of the carbohydrate and sugar goodies. Holly cow I love churros, Dole Whip, candy apples and all the other yummy not good for me foods. When I go to Disneyland on a non-cheat day this list helps me enjoy the park while staying on my diet. I also pack snacks to aid in not eating all the sugary goodness.

Starbucks or coffee shop – A tall coffee with heavy whipping cream is a great way to start the day or to do a pick me up at 11 before a late lunch. Cause this mom needs her caffeine fix to handle long days at Disney.

Character Breakfasts – Lots of places like Plaza Inn and Goofy’s Kitchen offer eggs and bacon for breakfast, ask about substituting the carbs they come with for more bacon or eggs

Disneyland and on the Paradise Pier at California Adventure sells Turkey Legs…YUMMM

Bengal BBQ in Adventureland-  meat skewers, veggie skewers, and bacon wrapped asparagus. You can ask for no sauce on your meat.

Cucina Cucamonga California Adventure Pier – Fajita salad no refrigerator beans or tortilla strips literally so filling

Plaza Inn Main Street Before Tomorrowland- Cobb salad for lunch or dinner. The salad is very filling the cast member will make it right in front of you so you could probably tell them the extra ingredients you want or those you would rather skip

Harbor Galley located going into Critter Country- shrimp salad, roast beef salad

Village Haus in Fantasyland- pastrami burger but you’d have to ask for no bun

Award Wieners- sausages without buns

Smokejumpers Grill by Soarin’- burgers, grilled chicken ask about lettuce wrapping before ordering and paying I hear they will do it or you could wrap it yourself at their condiment station

Flo’s Cafe in Carsland- Cobb de Ville Salad, Ka-cheeseburger no bun

I know this isn’t a huge list but I will be working to find more. If any one knows any more Keto ideas for Disneyland feel free to email me.
